Green Medicine Team

Led by Dr. Green and Evelyn Andersen, our team is made up of a physician, a nurse practitioner, registered nurses and other highly skilled practitioners trained in a variety of integrative medicine disciplines. We possess unique skills and areas of expertise, allowing us to provide our clients specialized care to meet their individual needs.

Dr. Green, MD

Dr. Green began his medical career in 1980 as chief of microbiology, immunology and virology in an 800 bed Midwestern hospital. He then completed medical school at the University of Iowa and followed with a residency in family practice. Family practice was chosen because it deals with the “whole individual.”

Dr. Green became disillusioned with corporate medicine and it’s emphasis on treating disease rather than promoting healthy lifestyles. A desire to find a better way to further education resulted in board certification in not only Family Practice but Integrative & Holistic Medicine, and Antiaging & Functional Medicine. He is also trained in medical acupuncture and is a Reiki Master. Dr. Green is a Lyme literate physician and a member of ILADS. He has helped many people suffering from Lyme disease regain an active, productive lifestyle. Dr. Green served in the United States Air Force for nine years and is proud to be a veteran.

Evelyn Andersen, A.P.N.P.

FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER   •   CERTIFIED SPORTS NUTRITIONIST

Evelyn’s journey in the field of Health and Wellness began with pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and wellness from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point. With a passion for preventive care and lifestyle medicine, she moved forward with her education completing a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Maryville University, St. Louis, Missouri.

She is a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, a Certified Sports Nutritionist with the International Society of Sports Nutrition and also holds certifications in nutritional biochemistry from Metabolic Fitness as well as Peptide Certification through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. She is actively pursuing a Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Metabolic and Functional Medicine.

She was given advice early in her career to “follow the research” which led her to explore the functional approach to medicine and health. Evelyn focuses on the prevention and maintaining control over chronic conditions, while working to improve them. Her goal is to assist individuals in achieving an optimal level of health and wellness throughout their life. As each patient is unique, she treats each individually. Her approach to patient care is centered in a holistic approach, using medications, and medical interventions as tools to achieve mutually agreed upon goals, with a strong emphasis on nutrition, lifestyle modification, behavior change, health education, and prevention.

She enjoys “walking her talk”, being active outdoors, walking her dogs, reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends. Traveling is also one of her passions, and the list of locations to visit is always expanding!
